Building and Architecture
The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) is advised in the broad spectrum of fundamental economic and technical questions on the subject of building. This concerns, for example, building related norms, the strengthening of public-private partnerships in public construction projects, the issuing of technical basis information for building contracts (record of standard services and data exchange) as well as environmental protection. Emphasis is placed on the goals "sustainable building", "climate protection" and "energy saving".
The Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR) analyses the information needs for the relevant subjects and policy goals, in particular in relation to the existing level of information; it reports on selected subject questions and makes contributions to the setting of regulations; it represents the departmental interests in relevant committees; and it aims for an improvement in planning and building quality generally. Not unimportant here is to also bring architecture into the centre of considerations.
