Project completed: The climate is changing: hazards from heat, floods and heavy rain are increasing. What does this mean for building standards and technical rules? How can standards help to make buildings more resilient?

Project completed: There is a lot of waste land in Germany. The research project investigated the question how the previously rarely used development order under Section 176 BauGB (German Federal Building Code) can be deployed more frequently and efficiently in order to promote housing construction.

Project completed: The ExWoSt project Digital Learning Labs of the City of Oldenburg was intended to improve the citizen participation of the population in urban planning and the formation of social coexistence.

Project completed: This study analyses the effects of the covid crisis in German border regions. The evolution of the pandemic and its consequences in the different regions are described quantitatively. The analysis is further detailed in four case studies and in the French-German border area.

Project completed: Compared to other European nations, a general awareness in Germany of the concept of 'Baukultur' is relatively undeveloped. Architecture and urban development are rarely viewed in this country as an integral part of everyday life.

Project started: Circular economy offers great potentials for rural regions, for instance, regarding regional resilience, a diversified economy, or new employment opportunities. The project collects transferable good practices from other European regions.

Project completed: Within the research project selected medium-sized towns were perambulated and analysed. The opinions of citizens about the growth of their towns were collected in digital workshops with representatives of three towns.

Project completed: The project examined how an additional demand for construction services affects overall economic production. As a result, one euro of additional construction demand leads to an increase in total economic output of 1.68 euros.
