Abstract

The energy turnaround will be associated with a further requirement for space for wind energy also in future. But how many spaces are available in the area of the Federal Republic of Germany? The article presents an approach for the analysis of space potentials for wind energy in Germany, which takes account of numerous influential factors such as regulations in regional planning or in nature conservation and water protection law. The availability of data plays an important role in this context. Furthermore, the article evaluates the influence of the individual factors on the total space potential.
