Trams and electric mobility
Abstract
Trams are the oldest and most reliable form of electric mobility. Their great significance as a rail-bound, electrically operated means of local public transport for today's urban traffic is closely associated with its system conditions. Tram networks have developed together with the city and accurately serve it on essential relations. Trams are being developed further in technical terms. In future, they will be supplemented by electric buses. Operated with alternative energy, trams constitute the backbone of post-fossil traffic.
