Under the title "Spatial monitoring Germany and neighbouring regions - Spatial structures and Iinkages", the MORO Praxis series now also contains the English version of the full report of the model projects of regional planning for spatial observation of Germany and its neighbouring regions.

About two years ago, the project set out to explore the basic issues and requirements for nationwide cross-border spatial reporting, using regional experience and existing expertise, to complement the perspective of the BBSR's information system.

The report shows which spatial information is currently available for a cross-border analysis. New ways were also explored in graphical form to prepare this information in such a way that the structures and developments of Germany as a whole as well as the German regions and cities become comparatively visible in the context of neighbouring countries and their regions.

The report lives from the duality of nationwide prototypical analyses and the thematic approaches and analytical implementations developed by the model regions. Looking to the future, however, he also points out the current obstacles and makes recommendations for a continuation of the reporting.

Following the cross-border perspective of the project, there is, in addition to a short version, not only in German, but also in all languages of the neighbouring countries.
