This research report covers the development of a simplified procedure for calculating the energy efficiency of newly constructed residential buildings. It is based on the study "EnEV easy", which was suggested by the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Baden-Wuerttemberg and carried out by the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics 2009/2010.
The procedure eliminates detailed calculations prove, if the building meets prescribed conditions and complies with certain requirements on the energy quality of the building envelope and systems engineering. For these buildings, the parameters to be entered in the energy certificate are fixed, depending on building size and use of systems engineering. So the issuer of the energy certificate only has to examine the specified qualities and constraints given in the procedure, and can then issue the energy certificate directly with the parameters taken from tables.
These parameters are calculated in the framework of this research project and set the conditions for using it. The achievable accuracy of the parameters is evaluated in comparison to any simplification in the procedure of issuing energy certificates. The implications of maintaining or strengthening the requirements are shown, too.
Finally, a formulation of a proposal is given to integrating this process into the recast of the Energy Saving Ordinance.
