Research Project: Evaluation of the 2016 housing benefit reform

Concept

For the evaluation of the housing benefit reform, comprehensive analyses of housing benefit statistics and other official data were carried out. For more in-depth analyses, a microsimulation model based on household samples has been developed with which simulation calculations can be carried out for future or past housing benefit legislation in terms of benefits and expenditure.

As an additional module, a survey of the housing benefit authorities has been conducted. It also serves to provide a deeper analysis of the effects of the housing benefit reform and answers questions that cannot be answered with existing data sources or the microsimulation model.
